Behind "VHS"
The name began with simple initials—V and H—representing the two original collaborators who believed that meaningful design requires multiple perspectives. As the studio evolved, those letters took on new meaning: "Very Handsome" became our expression of what thoughtful design should embody—confident without being showy, refined without being excessive, memorable without being loud.
The VHS acronym also carries personal significance for our generation, evoking the care and intentionality of those analog tapes that held our most important memories. We design with the same reverence: creating spaces that are timeless, emotional, and worth remembering.
Han Dang
Han's path to design began with an observation: the spaces that stayed with her longest weren't necessarily the most expensive or elaborate, but the ones that understood their role in human experience. This insight shaped her vision for Very Handsome Studio—a practice where thoughtful design becomes part of life's most treasured moments.
With over 10 years of experience creating spaces across hospitality, commercial, education, and residential projects, Han understands how different environments serve different human needs. She founded VHS on the belief that great design should be collaborative, never ego-driven, and always in service of the people who inhabit the spaces we create.
